A philologist and visual artist, Javier González Ramos studied painting at the Taller del Prado in Madrid and attended courses at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University, as well as various seminars led by renowned visual artists.
He currently combines his studio practice with solo and group exhibitions in galleries in Madrid and Switzerland, while also taking part in national and international art fairs.
Javier González Ramos’s painting emerges as a synthesis of the influences he has absorbed, his own aspirations, and his individuality, crystallizing into a language in which form and color express themselves independently.
His references include the Fauves, with a particular emphasis on Matisse, as well as the lyricism of De Kooning, the purity of Joan Miró, and the synthesis of Scully.
Through his work, the artist seeks to establish an optimistic dialogue with the viewer — an invitation to contemplate the gentler side of things. A deliberate geometric dynamism, built from a spontaneous gesture, invites a sense of flow, alternating movement with stillness, intensity with lightness.
His painting is free from direct external references, although it aspires to capture a part of everyday reality. It is a painting based on contrasts of color and form, oriented toward the search for harmony and the transmission of a serene joy to the viewer.
