Baptiste Laurent is a French artist who has lived in Spain since 2007. His work has been exhibited in several prestigious artistic and cultural institutions, such as the French Institute of Madrid, Galeria La Caja, Esquina Nua, Espacio Seara, Palais de Tokyo, Gallery Gazzambo, Alliance française, Museo Nacional de Antropología and Galeria FL. Laurent specializes in painting, but also works on sculpture and develops projects with strong literary, social and anthropological elements. In his recent publications and exhibitions, including "Conversaciones y puñetazos", "Mauvaises Tournures", "Bajo el Mismo Mar" and "Exit", he has experimented with collective work, collaborating with other visual artists and writers. His anti-academic and eclectic approach allows him to syncretize different pictorial styles, varying between neo-figurative narrative, graphic painting, and expressionist abstraction. Laurent founded the Latolier studio in the Usera district of Madrid, where he leads a dynamic community of Spanish and international artists.
