Eduardo Naranjo was born on August 25, 1944, in Monesterio, Badajoz, and is one of the most renowned Spanish painters still alive and continuing to create. He is a contemporary and stylistic peer of Antonio López. His works fetch prices sometimes exceeding € 300,000 at auctions.

Naranjo is considered a leading figure in magical realism, a style that blends realism with elements of fantasy. His unique style not only compels viewers to look at his paintings but to experience them, delving into the artist’s nuanced world. This ability to animate canvases makes each of Naranjo’s works not just an image but a window into a deeper dimension of reality, where every figure and line has its own story.

Naranjo’s works are featured in many museums and countless private collections. In 1979, after his renowned exhibition in Biscay, cultural experts named him "Artist of the Year in Black and White Graphics."

In 1981, his contributions to the artistic design of the Spanish Constitution of 1978 marked a return to engraving, which he has alternated with painting ever since. Although it is challenging to highlight any single piece from his oeuvre, arguably his most impressive works are the thirteen engravings dedicated to "Poet in New York" by Lorca, created from 1986 to 1991. These works are currently showcased in our gallery.
