Madrid, 1971. Iván Araujo graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the UCM (Madrid) in 1994, specialising in Calcographic Engraving, and at the same time developed an intense activity in engraving workshops where he began to work professionally: EEGEE 3 and later Ediciones Benveniste. He worked with Dan Benveniste from 1994 to 1999, as an assistant, delving into the processes of making, printing and editing plates by artists of recognised national and, above all, international prestige, specialising in large-format editions.

At the same time he continued to work on his own graphic and original work, receiving his first Pilar Juncosa and Sothebys, Fundación Miró, Mallorca, Carmen Arozena awards, etc. and began to work with galleries in the national territory. From 1999 to 2001 he held the position of Associate Professor of Engraving at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the UCM in Madrid and dedicated himself to teaching engraving and other technical resources of graphic arts.

In 2001 he decided to open his own studio in Madrid where he has since researched and published his work exclusively, maintaining that double creative aspect between painting and graphic work and monotype, a discipline to which he has devoted special attention. To date he has held numerous exhibitions, fairs and editions and worked with top-level galleries in the country. He has received awards and mentions (Máximo Ramos, Bienal de Contratalla, Caixanova) and at the same time he has carried out research into the possibilities of engraving with various artists who come to his studio to work.
